ParaSim is a paragliding simulation game for Mac, iPad and iPhone. You fly over the real French terrain — Lake Annecy, Mont Blanc, the dune du Pilat — in the real weather of the day, with a wing that stalls, collapses and spirals like a real one. A radio-guided school teaches the basics, up to eight pilots share the same sky. Free at La Forclaz; one purchase opens all of France.
ParaSim puts you under a paraglider above the real French terrain: ten sites built from the IGN's own survey and imagery, from the Col de la Forclaz above Lake Annecy to Planpraz facing Mont Blanc, Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet, the Puy de Dôme and the dune du Pilat. Every named summit, col and massif is there. The weather is the real hourly forecast, or a kind of day you pick — thermal, calm, windy, low base, sporty.
The wing is flown like a real one: brakes, weight shift, speed bar, big ears, rear risers. It stalls, collapses and spirals, and every incident is explained where it happens — what it is, why, how you get out. A school of six radio-guided lessons, four advanced ones and four handling exercises takes a beginner from inflation to the reserve. Then the sky opens: the site triangle, eight timed challenges, and rooms of up to eight pilots in the same thermals through Game Center.
ParaSim is a game, not a training tool, and says so before anything else appears. It is free to download — the Col de la Forclaz and the whole school with no limit — and one purchase, “All of France” (€7.99), opens the nine other sites, the map and their challenges. No subscription, no ads.
