ParaSim (Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV) · last updated 25 October 2026
ParaSim has no accounts, does not measure what you do, shows no advertising and sends no personal data to its publisher. What leaves the app is the coordinates of flying sites, to fetch maps and weather.
If you have enabled iCloud, your progress and the tracks of your flights are synchronised across your devices through CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. Almost Labs has no access to it: it is your Apple account, not ours.
| Recipient | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| IGN — Géoplateforme | The coordinates of the requested tiles | To show the ground |
| swisstopo, Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, Spanish IGN (PNOA) | The coordinates of the requested tiles | To show the ground near the Swiss, Italian and Spanish borders |
| AWS Terrain Tiles | The coordinates of the elevation tiles | To build the terrain |
| Almost Labs | The latitude and longitude of the chosen site | Real weather for that site |
| Apple — Game Center | Your player identifier, managed by Apple, and your scores (challenges, career XP, flight records) | Multiplayer, invitations and leaderboards |
| Apple — Maps | The coordinates of the point you pick on the map | The name of the place, when you place one |
These services see your IP address, as any request on the Internet does. There is no advertising identifier, no tracker and no analytics in the app.
The app never asks for your real location and does not use the device's GPS. The coordinates sent are those of the flying site you picked on the map.
The other pilots in the room receive a pseudonym generated by the game — neither your Game Center name nor the name typed on your pilot card, which stay on your device —, the position of your glider in the simulation, your wing and harness, and the preset phrases you pick on the room radio. There is no free text. These are positions in a simulated world: they say nothing about where you actually are. Everything goes straight from one device to another through Game Center; nothing is stored or moderated on a server.
The iPhone can fly the game on an Apple TV or a Mac on the same local network. The two devices find each other on the local network (Bonjour) and talk directly, after a four-digit code shown on screen; nothing goes through the Internet or our servers. Only flight controls and the iPhone's name are exchanged. On the Mac, this listening is off by default and is switched on in Settings.
"All of France" is a one-time purchase handled by Apple (StoreKit). The app sees neither your payment method nor your identity; it receives from the device the verified proof that the purchase exists, and keeps a local copy to remember it offline. Almost Labs receives and stores no purchase data: the right is restored from your Apple account.
On iPhone and iPad, tilting the device can be used as a flight control (weight shift). This can be turned off, and those readings never leave the device.
ParaSim contains no advertising and no text typed by other players: the room radio is a list of preset phrases, and the names seen in a room are pseudonyms generated by the game. The only purchase is the one described above, under the App Store's rules ("Ask to Buy" for children's accounts).
Since no personal data is collected by the publisher, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. Deleting the app erases local progress and the cache; iCloud progress is removed from your device's iCloud settings.
